BRASS BANDS:

Brassroots - Director: John Hanchett

Brassroots is the City's initial brass band and caters for young musicians from grades I to III.

For most players, this is their first experience of playing in a brass band.  They learn to play to a common pulse, following directions for starting and stopping.  They begin to learn to balance the volume of their sound to that of other players.  As they progress within the band, players learn to lead sections and pay careful attention to the interpretation of the music.  Some learn to maintain an individual part within the ensemble.  They explore music that changes metre and tempo, learning to follow directions of change of speed.

The band rehearses every Wednesday during term time at Bevois Town Primary School from 4 - 5.30pm

Fusion Brass

Director: Paul Hart.

This is the second band in the Brass band pyramid. Rehearsals are held at Bevois Town Primary School every Thursday during term time from 4.45 - 6.45pm
