About the Ensemble:

The Southampton Youth Orchestra has developed the reputation as England's finest city youth orchestra.  Such is the reputation of the orchestra that they have frequently been invited to perform at the Royal Albert Hall and the Royal Festival Hall in London.  An overseas concert tour is undertaken each summer.

During their time with the orchestra, players explore some of the major symphonic repertoire, learning to give a polished performance in a range of settings and acoustic environments.  They work with living composers, guest conductors and a range of professional orchestral musicians.  The orchestra benefits from strong links with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and give an annual joint concert.
