Recent research has shown that learning music is of great benefit in many ways to the development of children, not just from an educational point of view:
- The ability to concentrate.
- To work with others.
- Self discipline - to work at something until it is right.
- Listening skills
- Creativity.
- It benefits aspects of maths learning.
We also find that children who learn a musical instrument are more likely to be successful in other areas of their education. This can be partly explained by the way playing an instrument develops a sense of self worth and success. Children begin to believe in their ability to achieve and succeed. They gain in confidence.
